Autophagy represents the major process for degradation of aggregated cellular proteins and dysfunctional organelles, so alterations in autophagy are involved in pathogenesis of many diseases, like nervous system disorders. WimAutophagy is our Image Analysis Solution specifically designed to monitorize the autophagy process, by detecting the autophagosomes in the cytoplasm from cell or tissue cultures images.
Thanks to our high-end image processing algorithms, WimAutophagy detects cell nuclei and allocates the autophagosomes to the corresponding nuclei, so useful data per cell can be obtained from our analysis. It is also optimized to distinguish between isolated and clustered autophagosomes, in order to be able to estimate the number of autophagosomes and puncta per cell.
